Primagraphics announces the Bobcat 6U VME dual channel graphics overlay generator

by Anonymous

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA June 30, 2004 -- Primagraphics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc., and a leading supplier of radar video and graphics display systems for military and civil applications, has launched Bobcat, a powerful, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), single-slot, 6U VME dual channel video/graphics overlay generator.

Bobcat provides two independent channels to allow incoming video sources to be overlaid with high resolution computer graphics generated directly from Bobcat. The card accepts interlaced or non-interlaced monochrome or RGB video signals including the STANAG 3350 format.

For each input channel, the video is digitally overlaid with an internally generated graphics picture at resolutions up to 1024 x 768. The digital video keying supports a number of video mixing modes to support anti-aliased graphics and alpha blending.

Bobcat maintains two independent graphics frame stores, one for each channel, with X Windows or Primalib graphics libraries supporting the graphics programming interface. With considerable flexibility in the programming of the video formats, Bobcat is a highly configurable graphics and video solution for video overlay applications.

Bobcat is an air-cooled module with all video input and output through the P2 connector. A companion product, Bulldog, offers the same capabilities in a ruggedized, conduction-cooled form factor. Long term support for the Bobcat is provided through Primagraphics' comprehensive COTS+ maintenance contracts, field proven on a number of major military programs.

Primagraphics is a recognized leader in the development of processing and display systems for military and civil applications. Its systems, for VME, PCI, CompactPCI and PMC formats, are in use throughout the world for airborne and shipborne command and control consoles, vessel tracking, air traffic control and air defense systems.
